City of Orange issues state of disaster declaration

The City of Orange, Texas has declared a state of disaster due to potential future flooding resulting from Tropical Storm Imelda. This will activate the appropriate recovery efforts from the state necessary for the city to address the needs associated with this disaster.
The declaration is effective September 19, 2019 and will remain in effect for up to seven days.
City officials advise citizens to not drive down flooded roads unless absolutely necessary and to be aware of any debris in the roadway.
Be alert for snakes and wildlife that may be displaced as a result of flooding. Monitor local radio, TV stations, and official social media outlets for current information.
