Bobcat CC teams fare well in Dayton

DAYTON – The Orangefield boys and girls cross country teams competed well at the Dayton Cross Country Meet over the weekend.

On the girls’ side, Lady Bobcat Maddison Helm placed third overall over the two-mile course, running a 12:47.5. She was followed by teammates Elizabeth Gracie Castro (43rd, 15:40.4), Kira Merendino (52nd, 15:59.6), Sally Crosby (64th, 16:43.7, personal record), Harmony Hall (114th, 19:22.9, personal best) and McClane Downs (116th, 19:34.4).

On the boys side, Payton Wrinkle was fifth over the 5,000-meter course with a 17:57.6. He was followed by teammates Dylan Wells (5oth, 20:33.7, personal best), Bryce Moore (66th, 21:14.6), Leyton Loft (72nd, 21:32.8, personal best), Tanner Sullivan (91st, 22:08.7, personal best), Brayden Babin (115th, 23:50.9) and Alfredo Arzola (132nd, 25:25.1).

The Bobcat boys placed 10th overall as a team in a field of 21 teams while the Lady Bobcats placed seventh among 17 teams.
