What should have been the happiest day of their lives, a couple died in a wreck just moments after getting married. Justice of the Peace 3 Joy Dubose-Simonton, after pronouncing the couple husband and wife, had to pronounce Harley Morgan, 19, and his wife, Rhiannon Boudreaux Morgan, 20, dead. Both were from Vidor.

The couple was planning a December wedding with all the bells but wanted to be officially married now as they started out on their new life together. The couple had dated since 8th grade.

Tragically, it ended sooner than anyone thought when a truck struck the young couple’s car on State Hwy. 87 by the Orange County Airport on Friday afternoon at 3:03 p.m.

Harley’s mother witnessed the collision.

During the investigation it was determined a white male driver of a 2015 Ford F-250, towing a trailer loaded with a tractor, was traveling south on State Highway 87, while the couple in a 2004 Chevrolet Coupe were exiting the private drive of Orange County Justice of the Peace 3. The Chevrolet sustained major damage and both occupants were pronounced deceased on scene, according to a press release from the Orange Police Department.

“I have blood on me as I was trying to pull my baby and his wife out of the car,” Lashawna Morgan said.

She also encouraged others to go home and hug their loved ones, especially their children.

“This could have been avoided if the driver had just slowed down,” Lashawna said. “I am going to fight to see they get justice.”

The driver of the Ford F-250 was not injured in the crash.

The incident is under investigation by the Detective Division of the Orange Police Department.
