SETRPC and Southeast Texas Nonprofit Development Center to cohost Nonprofit Security Enhancement Workshop

The South East Texas Regional Planning Commission and the Southeast Texas Nonprofit Development Center are co-hosting a Nonprofit Security Enhancement Workshop on Thursday, September 5, 2019, from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Foundation for Southeast Texas, located at 700 North Street in Beaumont.

The purpose of the workshop is to equip 501(c)(3) public charities and faith-based organizations which, due to their faith, ideology or beliefs, are at higher risk of a terrorist incident with information regarding available Department of Homeland Security (DHS) grant funds to enhance their preparedness.  Information will also be presented on how to competitively apply for the funds as well as other available community resources and training to help make Southeast Texas a safer one in which to live, work and worship.

Guest presenters include Adriana Lopez, Nonprofit Security Grant Program Grant Manager and Officer Danny Valdez, PCR Community Coordinator, Beaumont Police Department.
