From staff reports

The Orange Convention & Visitors Bureau, in collaboration with Pro Watercross, present Rumble on the River, a high energy, Jet Ski racing event.  This event begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 17, and Sunday, August 18, at the City of Orange Boat Ramp. There will be no charge to attend this family-friendly event.

In an effort to promote tourism, this event will include an estimated 50 to 75 racers from Texas, Florida, Alabama, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Georgia. Concessions and kids activities will be available on site for those of all ages to enjoy.

This is to replace the event originally scheduled earlier this year and will be a Memorial Race for Shaun Compton.

TX H2O Racing promoter Shaun Compton passed away suddenly on March 1, 2019, which has left a huge void in the racing community. The Compton and jet ski family have planned to honor Shaun at the Orange, Texas race.

Pro Watercross are the new owners of TX H2O Racing and is excited about the prospect of taking on the TX H2O racing series and carrying on Compton’s dream for grassroots racing.
