Newton County Sheriff’s Office Report 8.12.19

PRESS RELEASE — I have Commissioners Court this morning so let’s get going.

We received a report of someone throwing a small puppy in the caller’s yard. The caller gave us a license number. The small blue car came back to someone in Houston. Please be advised it’s against the law. Couldn’t find any information on the owner of the vehicle.

We are having calls about deer camps being broken into. Please invest in game cameras and have them put out around the camps. It will help us plus you’ll be surprised of the game hanging around your camp when you are not there.

We have a deputy going to inspect several horses, that according to a caller, are not being taken care of. Neglecting your animals, in some cases, is against the law. You gotta take care of them. We spend so much time running these calls. Please help us out.

We had several calls this week where we were asked to remove someone from a house. If you are letting someone stay with you, then there is a process you have to go through to have them removed. Be careful who you allow to move in.

Gotta go. Thought for the week: Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…it’s about learning to dance in the rain. Ya’ll have a good week and if we can help, just holler. God Bless.
