A 7-year-old LCM child was airlifted to a Houston hospital late Thursday night after a fireworks incident injured her hands.
According to OCESD 3, they responded to a report of a fireworks incident at approximately 10 p.m. in the 9200 block of Old Highway 87.
Authorities said her hands were severely injured by an artillery shell. It’s not clear how the incident occurred or the cause of the incident.
Due to the severity of the burns, an air med helicopter responded to the scene.
The child was transported to a Houston area burn unit for treatment.
