Riding for a cause sidelined

- Randy Strong/The Orange Leader BTX Peloton Cycling Club – Beaumont, Texas met Ricker Ledoux Sr. on Saturday morning at the Old Community Bank in Deweyville to give the 70 years old cyclist a proper sendoff for his long bike ride from Orange County to Dover, Delaware raising money and awareness for Vietnam Veterans

After a great send off on Saturday morning, Ricker Ledoux Sr., 70, was sidelined on his trip from Deweyville, Texas to Dover, Delaware on Sunday.
According to a Facebook post on Sunday on the page created for people to follow his trip,
“Well today didn’t go as planned
Ricker had a Bike accident outside of Opelousas, La. and broke his hip. He is okay but he will definitely not finish his ride at this time.
He is in Opelousas General and will have surgery sometime tomorrow. It’s a pretty nasty break. Please keep him in your prayers for a speedy recoveryI will keep everyone updated as I know. Thank you to everyone for being with us on this journey “
Monday afternoon, Ledoux underwent hip replacement surgery.
Ledoux was making the journey to help raise funds and awareness for Vietnam Veterans.
