Bennett to guide Anahuac baseball

Former Orangefield and Kirbyville baseball coach Jeff Bennett recently accepted the head baseball coaching job at Anahuac High School.

Bennett was the head coach at Orangefield for five seasons and helped lead the Bobcats to a Class 4A Region III Finals berth in 2010 where they fell to Jasper. The Bobcats were 29-6 that seasons. Bennett had a 88-53 record in his stint at Orangefield.

He was the head coach at Kirbyville from 2012-2017.

He was the head coach at Beaumont United in its first ever season last season and the Timberwolves went 1-22.

Bennett will get the opportunity to face both of his former programs in District 22-3A in the Bobcats and the Wildcats next season.

Anahuac went 15-11 overall last season, 5-9 in 22-3A play.
