Port Arthur police officer arrested in Orange County for suspected intoxicated driver

Joshua L. Abshier of the Port Arthur Police Department was arrested by Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) on Saturday, June 1, according to a press release from the Port Arthur Police Department.
Abshier was booked in at the Orange County Jail at 2:40 a.m. and released at 9:45 a.m.
His bond was $1,500.
The arrest was the result of a routine traffic stop in Orange County.
Port Arthur Police Department released a statement:
“Port Arthur Police Department is conducting an Internal Affairs investigation and will make an additional determination with regard to the disposition of any personnel matter at the appropriate time. This is standard procedure for personnel actions of this nature.”
