DPS searches for vehicle in auto-pedestrian crash

ORANGE COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) investigated yesterday a report of an auto-pedestrian crash on Interstate 10 near mile marker 867.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates at approximately 9 p.m., a pedestrian was walking westbound in the inside lane of the interstate when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.

After the initial collision, several additional vehicles struck the pedestrian. The vehicle that initially struck the pedestrian has not been identified at this time.

The pedestrian is identified as Napoleon Braxton, 44, from Houston.

Braxton was pronounced deceased at the scene by an Orange County Justice of the Peace.

This crash remains under investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
