SAN ANTONIO – Little Cypress-Mauriceville golf standout Jack Burke, a week removed from winning the Class 4A State Boys State Golf Tournament, was busy playing at the Texas Masters at the Brackenridge Park Golf Course over the Memorial Day weekend and finished a tremendous eighth among 78 golfers.
Burke fired a three-round score of 210 (67-70-73) to finish in a tie for eighth.
Katy’s Byungho Lee won the tournament with a sizzling 203 (67-69-67) to win by five strokes.
Only two strokes separated second through 11th place.
