Bobcat golf team nets 12th at 3A State Golf Tournament

AUSTIN — The Orangefield Bobcats were competing at Grey Rock Golf Course in Austin as they wrapped up the Class 3A State Golf Tournament and finished 12th as a team with a two round score of 714 (362-352), improving by 10 strokes on the second day.
Columbus won the team title with a 627 (313-314) while Pottsboro won the silver with a 628 (322-306) and Pollok Central took the bronze with a 658 (334-324).
Logan Risinger led the Bobcats with a 162 (85-77) after a superb second round. He was followed by teammates Hunter Christman (81-88-169), Ryan Braxton (93-88-181), Kyle Pickard (103-99-202) and Chase Broussard (109-101-210).
Pottsboro’s Austyn Reily won the individual gold medal with a 144 (74-70) while Pollok Central’s Cameron Hubbard was second with a 148 (73-75) and Comfort’s Cooper New was third with a 150 (78-72).
