LC-M’s Dileo has strong State golf finish

Little Cypress-Mauriceville freshman golf standout Montana Dileo wrapped up an amazing first season as she finished tied for seventh at the Class 4A State Girls Golf Tournament held at the Plum Creek Golf Course.

Dileo fired a two-round score of 161 (84-77) and finished strong on the second day to tie Lampasas’ Kirsten Richards.

Carroltown Ranchview’s Bohyun Park ran away from the competition by shooting a stunning 126 (62-64). Lamar Fulshear’s Tristan Gabhand was second with a 150 (74-76) and Monahans’ Ozlyan Juarez was third with a 151 (78-73).

Andrews won the team state title with a two-round score of 649 while Lampasas (678) was second and Midlothian Heritage (683) nabbed third.

The Hardin-Jefferson girls finished eighth overall with a 722.

The Boys Class 3A State Tournament will feature the Orangefield boys on May 20-21 at the Grey Rock Golf Course as Bobcats Logan Risinger, Hunter Christman, Ryan Braxton, Chase Broussard and Kyle Pickard will look to medal.

The Boys Class 4A State Tournament will be held May 20-21 at the Plum Creek Golf Course as LC-M Bears Jack Burke, Jack Tindel, Wyatt Wozniak, Mason Sterling and Travis Love look to bring home some medals.
