The Orangefield Bobcats (18-10) will tangle with the New Waverly Bulldogs (19-8) in a best-of-three Class 3A Region III area round series.

Game One will be at 6 p.m. Friday at Sam Houston State. The Bobcats return closer to home Saturday with Game Two starting at 3 p.m. at Bridge City’s Chuck Young Field followed by Game Three, if necessary.

The Bobcats devoured Corrigan-Camden 10-2 and 10-0 in their bidistrict series last week. New Waverly, District 23-3A champions, canned Tidehaven 14-0.

The Orangefield-New Waverly winner will face either Van Vleck or Pollok Central in the regional quarterfinals next week.
