Church Calendar for the 18th Week of 2019

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

 

Open House

Orange Church of God, 1911 16th Street in Orange, is hosting an Open House for OASIS Respite Ministries. Older Adults Sharing In Service (OASIS) from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

We participate in community service projects, exercise, music, puzzles, devotions, games, intergenerational fellowship, and cognitive stimulation.

 

Feed the Hungry

Mt. Olive Baptist Church hosts Feed the Hungry from 12 Noon – 1 p.m. each Thursday at the Rosa Watkins Kitchen located at 106 West Park Ave., in Orange.

 

Ladies Tea

Orange First Church of the Nazarene (OFCN) is hosting Ladies Tea celebrating “The Bride of Christ” with speaker Rachel Medlin, executive pastor at Northpoint Community Church, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the OFCN Dining Hall located at 3810 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Orange. Cost is $5 per person with those 65 and over attend for free. Reservation deadline is May 1. Contact Janet at the church office at 883-4674 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday – Friday for tickets.

 

Samaritan’s Closet

Samaritan’s Closet is open each Tuesday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 1009 Mill Street in Orange. Helping in the community with new and like new clothing, cleaning supplies, toiletries and more.

 

Grief Support

Grief Support offers support and encouragement for your grief journey at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday at 1911 North 16th Street in Orange. For more information call 409-833-8631.

 

Bible Study Mini-Session

You are invited to participate in a Bible Study mini-session, BREATHE by Priscilla Shirer. The study will take place the five Wednesdays in May beginning May 1st, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Trinity Baptist Church sanctuary. There will be a break for summer.

You can sign up in the foyer at Trinity Baptist this Sunday, or if you don’t attend Trinity, call the church office at 409-886-1333. Feel free to bring friends. Books will be $10 each. (Scholarships available.) Trinity is located at 1819 N. 16th Street in Orange. Ryan Chandler is the pastor.

 

Divorce Care

DivorceCare helps you recover from the pain of separation and divorce at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday at 1911 North 16th Street in Orange. For more information call 409-833-8631.

 

Anger Management Classes

Wells of Agape is holding Anger Management Classes start from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, at Life Church Orange located at 18389 Hwy. 62 in Orange (near State Hwy. 62 and Hwy. 105 intersection) Requirement to receive a Certificate of Completion is $30 per person, cash only and covers all three nights. Must be paid prior to first class. One must attend all three Tuesday classes to receive the certificate. 30th-year Appreciation Service 

Starlight Missionary Baptist Church 350 N. 37th street will be hosting their Pastor Rev. L. R. Charlot’s, 30th-year Appreciation Service on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 3:30 p.m. The theme is “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15. Pastor Charlot would like to recognize Deaconess Davis, one of her faithful members, who joined the church the day Pastor Charlot preached her first sermon.  She is a dedicated member and a strong supporter to Pastor Charlot.

Apostle U. Beverly, Jesus Christ Outreach Church of Port Neches, Texas will be the guest speaker accompanied by Asst. Pastor Haskel, the choir and congregation.  Other pastors, their churches, families, and friends of Houston, Katy, Beaumont, Orange, Texas, Vinton, Louisiana, and surrounding areas will be in attendance.  We extend a cordial invitation to all pastors, churches, and well-wishers in the community to participate in this special celebration recognizing a Blessed, highly favored, and anointed woman of God.  We look forward to seeing you there!

 

Time Capsule Placement

St. Paul C.M.E. Church will place a Time Capsule at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 1201 N 4th Street in Orange.
