Bobcats make quick work of Corrigan-Camden

JASPER — It was a complete dominating effort for the Orangefield Bobcats in their best-of-three Class 3A Region III bidistrict series against the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs Wednesday and Friday at Jasper High School.

The Bobcats (18-10), District 22-3A runnerups, pounded the Bulldogs (15-8) 10-2 to roll to the victory in Game One and then strummed the Bulldogs 10-0 on Friday.

The Bobcats will now take on New Waverly in the area round of the playoffs next week.

Landen Tomlinson threw a gem on Friday for Bobcats no runs.

The Bobcats notched five runs in the sixth inning.  Kent Michael, Blake Bradley, Tyler Washington, and Jacob Harvey each had RBIs in the frame.

A single by Luke King in the first inning was a positive for Corrigan-Camden.

Tomlinson took the win for Bobcats. He lasted six innings, allowing two hits (both bunts) and zero runs while striking out nine.

Zack Ivie took the loss for Corrigan-Camden. He lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and seven runs while striking out two.

The Bobcats racked up ten hits.  Michael and Johnny Armstrong all collected multiple hits for Bobcats.  Michael went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Bobcats in hits, while Armstrong had 2 triples.

The Bobcats amassed 12 hits in the big win Wednesday.

Blake Bradley got the win on the hill as he tossed a three-hitter and collected five strikeouts over six innings. Kadeon Evans tossed the seventh in relief.

Evans also led the Bobcat hitting parade as he went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate and drove in three runs.

Mason Gonzales had a huge night as well as he went 3-for-4 and produced three RBI.
