Bobcat golf team qualify for 3A State Tournament

- Courtesy Photo The Orangefield boys golf team qualified for the State Tournament Tuesday after a solid two days at Regionals.
BRENHAM — The Orangefield boys golf team will be heading to the Class 3A State Golf Tournament by placing a solid third at the 3A Region III Tournament held in Brenham Monday and Tuesday.
The Bobcats finished third with a two-round score of 702, shooting a 351 on each day.
Logan Risinger was Orangefield’s top individual finisher as he had a two-round score of 166 to finish in eighth place. He was followed by teammates Hunter Christman (171), Ryan Braxton (180), Chase Broussard (185) and Kyle Pickard (199).
Central Pollock 662 (327-335) and Cameron Yoe 689 (355-334) each finished first and second to move on the State.
The Bobcats edged Rockdale 708 (351-357) by six strokes to claim the third State Berth.
The Class 3A State Tournament will take place May 20-21 in Austin at Grey Rock Golf Club.
