ORANGEFIELD — The Orangefield Lady Bobcats defeated the Hardin Lady Hornets Thursday night 16-7 in District 22-3A action at Lady Bobcat Field as they get ready to prepare for the playoffs.

The Lady Bobcats (21-8, 11-3) were tied with Kirbyville for the second-place playoff berth going into Friday as Kirbyville had a game Friday evening as the two could have a seeding game before the playoffs start next week.

Codie Sorge got the win on the mound giving up four earned runs on eight hits with seven strikeouts.

Ryden Stanfield went 2 for 3 with three runs scored and two walks. Alayna Dodd had a hit with a run scored. Codie Sorge had a double and a run scored. Emma Humplik went 3 for 4 with a double, a homerun, a walk, two RBI, and three runs scored. Tiffany Ciancaglione went 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored. Alyssa Dodd went 3 for 3 with a double, a home run, three RBI and a run scored. Heather Mineer had a single and a run scored. Olivia Grant went 2 for 5 with two RBI and two runs scored.
