Lady Cardinals notch vital road win against H-J

SOUR LAKE – The Bridge City Lady Cardinals strummed the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks 12-2 in five innings Tuesday night in District 22-4A play at Lady Hawk Field as the Lady Cardinals remain in the playoff hunt with one game left in the regular season.

Madyson Melton nabbed the win on the hill for the Lady Cardinals (14-12, 5-6) as she went all five innings, allowing just one hit and allowed just one earned run.

Caitlin Denison and Leah Jeffrey each went 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in a run apiece.

Aspen Daniels was 1-for-2 with a RBI. Aleah McClanahan was 1-for-4 and drove in a run. Kyndall Harrison and Abby Anderson each had a hit while Ashley Gerrald came home to score two runs. Natilee Reed also drove in a run and scored.

The Lady Cardinals now face a big game on the road Thursday when they visit the Lumberton Lady Raiders.
