Vidor Police are investigating what led up to a man being shot after an altercation Friday evening.

According to Chief Rod Carroll, officers received a call around 6:45 p.m. in reference to shots fired in the 400 block of South Archie in Vidor.

Shortly afterward, officers received a second call in regards to a gunshot victim. Upon arrival on scene officers located a male victim with a single gunshot wound to the leg area.

A second victim was alleged to have been shot as well, but it is believed to have been a ricocheted shot.

Both victims were assessed on scene by first responders and appear to have non-life threatening injuries.

Police are actively searching for the shooter at this time and the case remains under investigation by the Vidor Police Department.
