Train hits 18-wheeler

PRESS RELEASE — At approximately 4p.m., Tuesday, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a train crash, involving a commercial motor vehicle, in Orange County.  The collision occurred near the intersection of Old Highway 90 and Mockingbird Street in Rose City.

Initial reports indicate that a truck tractor semitrailer was traveling across the railroad tracks when the trailer became lodged on the tracks.  The driver of the 18-wheeler was able to exit the vehicle before the vehicle was struck by the train.

There are no reports of injuries.
