Newton County Sheriff’s Report 4.1.19

PRESS RELEASE — Had a pretty good week. Let’s see what’s been going on. Received 911 call about a snake in a laundry room. All working units responded (except me). They saw the snake but couldn’t catch him. They still don’t know where sneaky snake went. Found a snake skin under the washing machine which means it had been there awhile.
Received a call from a lady who stated the neighbor’s pigs were in her yard. She stated the pigs were in poor condition. Before we got there, she called back and the pigs were causing damage to her property. What can I say?
We received a report from a lady about her nephew being assaulted by a man with a bull whip. Her husband got involved. Lot’s of threats made and everyone wants to file charges. We are still looking into it.
So many calls this week about phone scams. Several people about Publishers Clearing House. Some calls saying, they are from the Social Security office. Just tell them what my wife said. Let me check with my husband, he’s our Sheriff. I will be your brother, husband, uncle or whatever. My wife said the phone just went dead.
Gotta Go. Thought for the week: Good intentions are not enough. You cannot tape the crack of a sinking boat. Ya’ll have a good week and if we can help, just holler. God Bless.
