Cardinals cruise past Horns to open second half of 22-4A play

FANNETT – The Bridge City Cardinals opened the second half of District 22-4A action Monday night with a 8-0 victory over the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns at Longhorn Field.

The win pushes the Cardinals to 15-6-2 and more importantly 6-1 in 22-4A play.

Logan Hamm and Peyton Havard combined to toss a two-hitter from the Cardinal mound.

Hamm worked 5 2/3 innings, striking out six while Havard tossed the final 1 1/3 innings.

Jackson Tims had two hits and drove in two runs for the Cardinals. Havard had two hits and drove in a run. Cameron Yadon also had two hits while Kade Benoit also drove in a run.

Bridge City finished with eight hits.

The Cardinals return home Friday to host Silsbee.
