Two-run 7th propels Bears past Tigers

SILSBEE — The LC-M Bears nabbed a huge road win to wrap up the first half of District 22-4A play by downing the Silsbee Tigers 5-3 Friday night at Tiger Field.

The Bears (18-5, 5-1) tallied two runs in the top of the seventh to stop the Tigers (2-4 in district).

Hunter Perkins got the Bears going in the top of the seventh with a base hit. Ty Moreland drew a walk and both runners went all the way to second and third on a wild pitch with one out.

Jordan Alexander, who had a pair of hits, brought in the go-ahead run with a single past third. Max Dileo made it 5-3 with a RBI single for his third hit of the night.

Taylor Gilbert went six strong innings for the Bears on the mound and Dileo closed it in the seventh as Gilbert allowed just two hits while Dileo allowed none.

The Bears will travel to Hardin-Jefferson Tuesday.
