Tracksters fare well at Bear Relays

Area tracksters worked on getting final tuneups in before district meets start cranking up next week.

LC-M hosted the Battlin’ Bear Relays Thursday as there were plenty of solid times and marks throughout the meet.

The PN-G girls took to girls crown with 136 points while Orangefield nabbed second with 104. The Newton boys snagged the boys team title with 80 points while the United JV was second with 66.

LC-M, WO-S and Bridge City will be participating in the District 22-4A Track & Field Championships next Tuesday and Thursday at Lumberton High School.

The field events will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday while the running finals will start at 6 p.m. Thursday.
