BRIDGE CITY — Behind the magical arm of Peyton Havard, the Bridge City Cardinals blanked the Lumberton Raiders 4-0 at Chuck Young Field Friday night in District 22-4A action.

The Raiders simply had no answer for Havard and the Cardinals (12-5-2, 4-1). Havard tossed a complete-game one-hitter in baffling the Raiders. The Raiders went down swinging a bunch as well as Havard chimed in with 17 strikeouts.

The Cardinals finished with six hits. They scored three of their runs in the bottom of the first.

Sam Carpenter had two runs batted in for the Cardinals while Cameron Yadon also brought in a run.

The Cardinals are scheduled to host Nederland in a non-district battle Tuesday before resuming 22-4A play next Friday at West Orange-Stark.
