WO-S’ Jefferson, LC-M’s Rogers make Academic All-State hoops

Two Orange County basketball players recently made the Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State Team.
On the boys’ side West Orange-Stark senior captain Jalen Jefferson made the elite unit while on the girls’ side Little CYpress-Mauriceville’s Karly Rogers made the unit.
To be nominated for Academic All-State a student must be an athlete in good standing with the team. Must be of good moral character. Must be a senior and must have an overall grade-point average of 92 or above.
Other Southeast Texas boys that made the unit includes Port Neches-Groves Riley Abel and Jacob Townsend; East Chambers Jayce Guillory and Deweyville’s Cameron Hand and Levi Wright.
On the girls’ side, Silsbee’s Dakota Matthews and Sydni Whiited made the team along with Deweyville’s Jada Freeland and Kayla McNeil.
