Little Cypress-Mauriceville senior standout distance runner Eli Peveto set a new standard in LC-M track as he set a new school record in the 3,200 meters Saturday.

Peveto ran in the very competitive Texas Distance Festival in Dallas and set a new school mark, running a sizzling 9:15.75.

That time broke the standard set by 2007 state champion Drew Bean, who ran a 9:16.59.

Peveto finished second in the race against a runner from Arkansas, who is an All-American.
