PRESS RELEASE — On March 17, 2019, at approximately 3:15p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Orange County.  The crash occurred in front of the Travel Information Center.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 2018 Ford Fusion was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 followed by a 2014 Dodge Durango and a 2015 GMC Yukon.  All three (3) vehicles stopped due to traffic congestion.  The driver of a GMC Denali towing a travel trailer failed to control his speed and rear-ended the Yukon.  The impact caused the Yukon to strike the Dodge and the Dodge to rear-end the Ford.

The driver of the Yukon, 30-year-old Andres Escamilla of Corpus Christi, and his passenger were both transported to a local hospital.  Both were treated and released late Sunday night.

There were no other injuries reported in the other three vehicles.

The driver of the GMC Denali, 53-year-old Gregory Arthur of Florida, was issued a traffic citation for failure to control speed.
