Lady Hawks edge past Bridge City

BRIDGE CITY — The Hardin-Jefferson Lady Hawks squeezed past the Bridge City Lady Cardinals 4-2 in District 22-4A softball action at Lady Cardinal Field Thursday afternoon.

The game was scoreless until Lady Hawk Mackenzie Comeaux ripped a three-run home run in the top of the fifth inning and H-J would add another run in the top of the seventh when Tammy Trailor had a RBI single.

The Lady Cardinals made a surge in the bottom of the seventh when Madison Melton brought in a run on a sacrifice fly and Kaylyn Dosch had a infield RBI single to trim it to 4-2.

Austyn Daniels tossed the first 4 2/3 innings for the Lady Cardinals, allowing just three hits while fanning seven.

Cheyenne Lee went the whole way for the Lady Hawks, scattering five hits while striking out just one.

The Lady Cardinals will visit LC-M Tuesday.
