Hello everyone, I’m Russell Holt and today I’m letting you know I’m running for WOCCISD school board in the upcoming election that will be held May 4, 2019.

For the ones who know me you know where I stand, but for the ones that don’t here’s a brief history:

I’m a 1988 graduate of WO-S.
I was a member of the ’86-‘87 Championship football teams.

After graduation, I’ve been a huge supporter and still am. I love being around the excitement that fulfills WOCCISD.
I’m a single parent raising my daughter; she is my world and life.
I’ve been challenged in life with many obstacles that come along with being a single parent. Being a mom and dad is 24/7.
Sometimes I feel like I fail but that makes me stronger and makes me work harder to be better. I’m very hard on myself but it’s worth it because it pays off in the long run.
I teach my daughter good morals and how to lead with character.

I think I’ve done a pretty good job, which along with that, I’m proud to say, I’m a member of the 
MEN OF EXCELLENCE program for WOCCISD. It’s a program where we can show our support to students and assist them issues they might have in life and/or just someone the can relay to at times. A lot of my daughter’s friends are always seeking advice from me.
I was also featured in a local magazine called Orange Living.
I was also recognized and awarded the MUSTANG SUPERFAN AWARD.

Recently, I was involved with the citizens advisory committee with WOCCISD and, to top all off, I was named father of the week in Orange.
My daughter is a two-time returner for the MUSTANG Fillies and this will be my second year as part of the Fillie Booster Club (Team Dad).
I love giving back to my community.
Being in involved helps make our community come together. I’ve been involved with back to school events to help get out school supplies to the kids.
I’m employed with the Walmart company, where I’ve been a supervisor for the past seven years. I love my job and the people I work with. 
So, now down to business.
What would I like to help bring to WOCCISD?

I would like to help bring good old fashion morals and bring some old school back and to continue to boost morale and make WOCCISD the school district everyone will talk positively about.
I want to try to help and establish good teachers and help bring in more teachers and add to what we already have.
I want to help find wholesome ground so that these students will carry their experience with them in life.
We want to continue to grow here and to help nurture our nature here, preserve principles for our kids and add to what IS already present here.

I JUST WANT TO ADD TO THE EXCELLENCE THAT’S ALREADY HERE.

I am proud to be able to have this opportunity to run for the school board.
If I’m elected, I will give it my all and best of my ability to serve for WOCCISD.
