NWS Lake Charles weather update

PRESS RELEASE — The risk for strong to severe storms is decreasing for our region on Saturday and Saturday night. The slight (15%) risk now barely comes into northern sections of Vernon, Rapides, and Avoyelles Parishes, while the marginal (5%) risk stays north of the I-10 corridor.
Looking further down the road, we are forecasting one to two inches of rain for next Wednesday and Thursday, with locally higher amounts possible. The severe weather risk still looks low at this time.
