LITTLE CYPRESS – The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears, who are now ranked No. 1 in the Class 4A in the Texas High School Girls Coaches Association poll that was released Tuesday, got a sweet District 22-4A win and a little revenge to boot Tuesday night as they defeated the Silsbee Lady Tigers 9-3 at Lady Bear Field.

The Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Bears (17-2, 2-0) 4-1 in the Liberty Tournament last weekend.

Brianna Frenzel nabbed the win on the hill for the Lady Bears as she tossed all seven innings. She allowed just three hits while striking out 10 and walking none.

Renna Toomey led the Lady Bears at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a three-run home run blast. JoAnna Henry remains on a tear as she hit a solo homer. Bailey Frenzel had a double to drive in a pair of runs.

The Lady Bears will welcome in Hardin-Jefferson Friday.
