BRIDGE CITY — The Bridge City Cardinals strolled past the Buna Cougars 14-1 in five innings in non-district baseball action Tuesday.

Payton Havard tossed three innings for the Cardinals, striking out seven Cougars. He also had two hits at the plate. Gavin Green and Logan Hamm also pitched for the Cardinals as the three pitchers totaled 13 strikeouts.

Trevor Kimbell also had a pair of hits and drove in two runs. Hamm collected three runs batted in while Sam Carpenter had two RBI.

Also on Tuesday, the LC-M Bears absorbed a 4-0 loss to Class 3A-ranked Kirbyville. Ty Shugart had two hits for the Bears.
