Chamber County plane crash investigation continues

PRESS RELEASE From Chambers County Sheriff Office — The ongoing investigation of the commercial airplane crash of the Boeing 767 in Trinity Bay near Anahuac has resulted in the recovery of one body thus far.

The joint operation between the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, the National Transportation Safety Board and the FBI will continue to attempt recovery of victims and the aircraft.

I would like to personally thank the many citizens that immediately launched boats to come to the aid of the victims of the crash and also thanks to the scuba diving recovery teams of the Department of Public Safety, Baytown Police and Fire and Houston Police Department.

Fort Anahuac Park and the boat ramp in the park will be closed to the public until further notice for the NTSB to recover the airplane and the aircraft’s black boxes.
