A man is charged with capital murder after his two-year-old daughter was killed Tuesday morning as residents express shock and grief concerning the incident.
Orange police officer, at 11:12 a.m. Tuesday, were dispatched to 520 Azalea Street in Orange in reference to a possible death. Initial reports were a baby had been killed and her age was estimated between 3 – 4 years of age.
The father, Yovahnis Roque, 26, was detained at the scene.
A neighbor called in the incident according to Captain Robert Enmon,
“We are still determining how, but it was a violent death,” Enmon said while waiting for the Crime Lab to reach the scene.
Through the investigation, it was discovered Roque was responsible for the child’s death.
He was arrested for capital murder.
