NWS Lake Charles weather update

PRESS RELEASE — The Storm Prediction Center is still forecasting a small 5% marginal risk for strong to severe storms Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning. The risk area is mainly central Louisiana, but it does extend into parts of southwest and south central Louisiana, as well as southeast Texas.

Between half an inch to two inches of rain is expected between tonight and Wednesday, with the higher values in central Louisiana, and the lower values in southeast Texas. There is a small risk for some street flooding during periods of heavy rain in central Louisiana.
Further down the road, there is another chance for strong to severe storms Saturday into Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service Lake Charles.
