Students honored with Bluebonnet Breakfast

Mrs. Melissa McCorvy, Library Manager at St. Mary Catholic School challenged 4th through 8th graders to read at least five books that are nominees for the Texas Bluebonnet Award over a five-month period. Nine students participated and not only qualified to vote for their favorite book but were invited to attend a special breakfast for voters, a Bluebonnet Breakfast. The students voted for eight different books. “Sergeant Reckless” won with only two votes. Students excitedly discussed the books as they enjoyed the delicious breakfast.
Ms. Julie Mulkey, a sales representative from Permabound, hosted the event that was much appreciated by the group of students.
