St. Mary announces Science Fair winners

To The Leader


St. Mary Catholic School 5th through 8th-grade students competed in a Science Fair at the school under the direction of Mrs. Tommie Daniel, Middle School Science Teacher.  The 7th and 8th-grade students that placed at home advance to the middle school Diocesan level at Monsignor Kelly High School.  They were Jacob Gonzalez, 8th grader, and Karson Guidry, Kendall Phillips, Verick Rincon, Madelyn Smith, and Bella Tran, 7th graders. 

The results are:


Physical Science –

1st Place Jacob Gonzalez, “Wipe With the Best”

3rd Place Karson Guidry, “Aerodynamics Can Be a Drag”



2nd Place Isabella Tran, “Which Pattern of Thread is Stronger?”


Behavioral/Biochemistry/Medicine/Health –

3rd Place Madelyn Smith, “How Does Smell Affect Taste”
