Hats, hats, and more hats.

Big hats.

Small hats.

Every style hat one could imagine was at the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church Senior Gospel Choir 28th annual Red/White Tea and Hat Show on Sunday.

The program began when church member Maddie Johnson coordinated with Hats by Naomi of Houston to bring the latest in hat fashion to Orange every year. For approximately 15 years, that is how the program remained until it took on a more local flavor 13 years ago.

Since then hats by Pretty Plus Fashions, Marsha G, and Tiffany’s Centerstage have also been featured.

Last year, Wythel and her husband Kelly Price II supplied hats for the show, according to Mary Alice Green.

Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church Male Chorus sang for the more than 60 persons in attendance of the event.

Loretta Warnell introduced the Honoree of the event, Patsy Roberts.

Roberts was described as an amazing mother and a woman of God. She also received a Certificate of Excellence from the church.

Roberts has been a part of the Senior Gospel Choir for 40 years.

“First in God,” Roberts said when she was presented with the certificate. “And my sisters in Gospel Choir, thank you all for what you have done for me. I look forward to many more years with the choir and to honor God all the days of my life.”

The Red and White Tea and Hat Show is held on the second Sunday of February every year.
