BRIDGE CITY — The Bridge City Lady Cardinals snagged a 11-3 season opening win Monday night over Class 3A power Buna.

Madyson Melton nabbed the win on the hill for the Lady Cardinals and finished with 11 strikeouts.

The Lady Cardinals swung the bats well, putting up a run in every inning.

Natilee Reed was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. Aleah McClanahan was 3-for-4 with three runs batted in. Hannah Murchison was 2-for-4 with three RBI and a triple while Leah Jeffrey went 2-for-4.

The Lady Cardinals will be in the Lufkin Hudson Tournament Thursday through Saturday.
