Lady Bobcats crush Vidor in softball season opener

ORANGEFIELD – The Orangefield Lady Bobcats crushed the Vidor Lady Pirates 12-2 in their softball season opener Monday night in five innings at Lady Bobcat Field.

Codie Sorge got the win on the hill for the Lady Bobcats as she tossed all five innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out eight.

Alyssa Dodd was 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and three runs batted in.

Ryden Stanfield went 2-for-3 with a double, a steal and three runs scored.

Alayna Dodd was 2-for-3 with a steal and scored twice.

Emma Humplik was 1-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored.

The Lady Bobcats will head to the Lufkin Hudson Tournament for six games at the end of the week.
