BUNA — It was not easy Tuesday night for the Orangefield Lady Bobcats but they still walked away with a tight 39-35 District 22-3A victory over the Buna Lady Cougars to claim the outright district title with a perfect 14-0 mark.

The Lady Bobcats (28-6) grabbed control early with a 12-5 edge in the first quarter and still led by seven at intermission at 21-14 and by seven again at 28-21 at the end of the third. The Lady Cougars made a strong push late with a 14-11 spurt but the Lady Bobcats loaded the bus, returning to Bobcat Country as undefeated 22-3A champs.

Emmi Lummus led the Lady Bobcats with 12 points and had three rebounds.

Madison Greenway chipped in with eight points, three rebounds and two steals. Jacey Bourque posted eight points, three rebounds and three steals. Faith Fregia had eight points while Tatum Garlington added seven.
