BC soccer teams split with H-J

BRIDGE CITY — The Bridge City Cardinals put together a dominating performance to open up district soccer play Tusday night by blanking the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks 7-0 at Ward Stadium.

Oscar Carranza and Camden Perry pumped in two goals apiece for the Cardinals while Kaide Mills, Albert Mungia and Candler Pachuca also scored goals.

The Cardinals will visit Hamshire-Fannett Friday.

BRIDGE CITY — The Bridge City Lady Cardinal soccer team dropped a tight 4-3 overtime district decision to the Hardin-Jeffertson Lady Hawks Tuesday night.

The Boswell sisters started the scoring off for the the Cards with Jill putting a point on the board off of Hallie’s assist, bringing the score to 1-0.

Hardin Jefferson then went on a three-goal streak to bring the score to 3-1 going into halftime. The Cardinals were not done yet though, and came out the second half on fire. Hannah Silveira had a beautiful goal off of a Jill Boswell assist. Breanna Molin followed it up with a goal from Hannah Silveira’s assist. The Lady Cards forced overtime with the Lady Hawks at the end of regulation with the score sitting at 3-3.

The Lady Cardinals will venture to Hamshire-Fannett Friday to face the Lady Longhorns.
