Elaine’s Blessings is a unique gift shop offering collectibles and motivational gifts.

While the store has been open for a year as of December 15, owner Vernike Pitre said she has not seen the response she had hoped when she started the business.

“They say it takes three years to see a profit,” Pitre said. “So I will still be open but maybe at a new location.”

Pitre would like to find a cottage house for the new location to fit in the theme of the store.

“We offer a lot of vintage items,” Pitre said. “I enjoy vintage things and look to offer more in the future.”

As well as vintage candies, toys, plates, and many other items, the business also offers clothing, jewelry, and motivational signs.

“We even have magnets with memes found on Facebook,” Pitre added.

She plans to add sundresses in the near future.

“Many of the ladies have asked about them,” Pitre said. “So this Spring I plan to add sundresses. I will also include T-shirts with my brand.”

She is currently working on motivational wooden signs, which she makes herself, offering a one of a kind gift.

Each visit to the store will reveal something new.

“We have some vintage pieces with roses, dating back to 1949,” Pitre said. “We have vintage games as well.”

The store also has toys for children and baskets packaged for the current holiday.

“I am a person attracted to many different things,” Pitre said. “The store allows me to incorporate all those into one place.”

Elaine’s Blessings is located at 1011 North 10th Street Suite 105 in Orange. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Monday – Thursday is by appointment only.
