Police responded twice to the 2500 block of Park Avenue on Wednesday.

The first call, at approximately 2 a.m., was in reference to a disturbance caused by an intoxicated man.

Once at the scene, the officer identified the man who was unable to stand, had bloodshot eyes and slow slurred speech, according to a police report.

The man, identified as Donald Williams, of Orange, was turned over to his brother’s custody. The brother told the officer he had already called an ambulance for Williams and police assistance was not needed.

A short time later, the officer was dispatched back to the location after Williams refused medical treatment.

As Williams was walking towards the patrol car, he almost fell to the ground multiple times.

He was taken into police custody for public intoxication.
