Lady Bears snag huge road win against Lady Raiders

LUMBERTON – The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears evened up their District 22-4A record to 2-2 with an impressive 56-48 road win against the Lumberton Lady Raiders Friday night.
The game was nip-and-tuck most of the way but the Lady Bears went on a 14-6 run in the third quarter to go up 41-32 and they then held off a surge by the Lady Raiders midway through the fourth to nail down the win.
Chelsea Perry sparked the Lady Bears (16-7, 2-2) with 14 points and had six rebounds and four steals. Post Karly Rogers powered her way inside for 13 points and snagged five rebounds.
Brittney Wyatt helped control the glass with 10 rebounds and had six points. Zaria Johnson chimed in with nine points and two steals while Brielle Butler notched eight points and swiped three steals.
The Lady Bears will host Orange County rival Bridge City Tuesday.
