The Texas high school girls soccer season will crank up this week as both the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears and Bridge City Lady Cardinals will look to make a push towards the postseason.

The Lady Bears have certainly shined in recent years in making playoff runs and long time coach Cammie Palmer has several key performers back including First Team All-District selections Kayla Nichols, who has signed to play for East Texas Baptist, Morgan Dollar and Avery Holland.

Second-Team All-District selections Rylee Locke and Cassie Blackmon return to the mix as well as Honorable Mention selection Kodee Ferguson.

Coach Lauren Martin will look to ignite the Lady Cardinals as they will look to make a move up the district standings.

The Lady Cardinals are sparked by All-District selection Brinley Bell, who has inked with Jarvis Christian University.

Both teams started tournament play this week as the Lady Cardinals are at the Huffman Tournament while the Lady Bears will be playing in Brenham.

Both teams are involved in tournament play at the PN-G Tournament Jan. 10-12.
