Wreck at Travel Center sends two to hospital

A man was issued a citation for failure to control speed after striking two parked vehicles Saturday morning at the Texas Travel Information Center.

Orange Police officers were dispatched at 4:45 a.m. Saturday to 1708 Interstate 10 in Orange in reference to a major wreck.

Officers found that a white 2014 Chevrolet pickup driven by a 41-year-old male from Sulphur, Louisiana, failed to control his speed entering the Information Center and struck two parked vehicles.

The truck first struck a black 2014 Toyota Corolla occupied by two females, 37 and 38 years old, from Lockhart, Texas.

Acadian Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital transported the 37-year-old female to St. Elizabeth and Air Med Helicopter to St. Elizabeth transported the 38-year-old female also to St. Elizabeth.

Their conditions are unknown at this time.

The second parked vehicle that was struck was a black 2012 Chevrolet Silverado occupied by a 54 year old male and a 50-year-old female from Pasadena, Texas.

They suffered minor injuries, but did not seek treatment.

The 41-year-old male did not seek treatment for minor injuries and was issued a citation for Failure to Control Speed.

Orange Fire Department responded to the scene to assist with the injured.
